Sucuri, a world-leading online security company, has released its report into the threats to websites that it investigated, researched and resolved during 2019.
Just a couple of points from me:
- ‘My website is too small to be hacked’ is not a defence! The hackers do not care how big or small your website is – they want control of as many websites as possible
- Webmasters need to adopt a vigilant, almost paranoid attitude towards cyber-crime – the criminals are becoming smarter every day
- All webmasters should have a disaster recovery plan ready. The mindset needs to be “…it’s not a question of ‘if’ my site will be hacked, it’s a question of ‘when’…”, so be prepared
Whether you’re managing 1 website or hundreds of them, I do recommend you download and read this report.
Full disclosure: I am both a customer of Sucuri and an affiliate for its products and services.
